Adam

Hangs out at Zeitgeist 3D design studio. Studying creative technologies in Babelsberg. Figuring out new ways to include acting in 3D scenes. Has a background in cinematography. Focused lately in “Procedural Realtime Meshes based on SDF Data”.

Eugene

He makes web art. Weird funny silly stuff.

In Yoga: smiling and laughing is theurapeutic.

His smiling web game is about smiling for a long time. There are hi-scores listed.

The crowd finds various ways of cheating in the game. We wont add them here to not spoil the fun :-P

Jade (aka Switch Angel)

Live coder based in Boston an NYC. Helps develop a live coding tool called Strudel (https://strudel.cc/), which is based on Tidal Cycles but based on the browser.

Demonstrates live coding sound with a drum loop.

A collaborative version used by the London algorave scene: https://nudel.cc

Aleksei Rivero

Shows a 2h presentation in 2 minutes, created 10 years ago. About information management. He suggested using everything web based instead of using OS dependent software, and also using Free Open Sorce Software. Another recommendations: use legal software, and learn to learn. At the time he used to meet with friends every month to learn different technologies on each session.

Presentations #2

Jessica

From Boston. Does live coding. Has been going around all creative code meetups around: London, Barcelona.

Usually uses a nannou program, written in Rust. Shows various sketches. One in which depth is important, having contours go above and below other shapes (weaving).

Was a software engineer doing machine learning for a long time, moved more into experimenting and playing with code.

Bird with growing neck.

How do you use nannou as a live coding env? Using yaml files that are hot reloaded.

Matthias

Mathematician pays his bills. During covid times he did nerdy things, like an app now found in f-droid: a kaleidoscope called Poleidoscope.

Has been in Berlin for over 20 years. Did audio and visual work, then interactive. Was involved in OpenTechSchool years ago. She now doesn’t care so much if people learn about specific technologies, but what they do with those technologies.

Once she asked everyone to introduce themselves from under the tables :-)

Has been running the School of Machines for 10 years, maybe 30 or 40 full programs. She’s been in front of humans learning to express themselves with technologies.

In August they will be a program about how to communicate in times of authoritarian regimes. Tells about a project in which drones were used to transmit information by their movements while flying.

The school is located in Acud, right in the center of Berlin. They have the opportunity to rent the top floor of the building. They’re looking for people to join and work in that shared space. Only until Tuesday to decide if they rent that space.

She cares now about how humans can get over the awkardness and get deeper into things.

Check the Instagram, get in contact if you want to join, or if you know someone who might be.

Has been working on a particle system for some time, created with Unreal Engine and Niagara. Show a 3D shape that reacts to sound produced while large particles are emmited. The shape looks slightly metallic, and the particles candy-like. He uses a game cotroller to control the 3D camera.

Jordanne

Comes from Toronto. An educator teaching kids how to code, make art and robots. Likes sketching with p5.js. Shows a funny one with Raphaël’s head at the end of those air blowing tubes used for advertising. Funnyyyy.

Also did https://jordanne.ca/heather/ in a conference in Scotland.

Co-organizer of Creative Code Toronto. Already with a thousand members in meetup.com.

Other passion is HTML1 and crafting little web pages.

Likes making tiny websites which are a present for one person.

Is fun to make shitty things :-)
